RALLY NEWS
The league is continuing well - do join us if you work a Sheltie in Rally!! Lovely to see so many Shelties at shows and in the league working their way up through the levels.
Well done to all league members who have gained 'excellent' qualifiers or who have had places.
In 2016 Jean's Glen became Ag Ch Japaro Cool Jazz at Craygill AW(D) P-Beg Ex RL6 and her Scott became Myndoc Minstrel for Craygill AW(G) P-Beg Ex RL6, while Karen Marek's Pippin, Mohnesee's Man On A Mission, was the first Sheltie to gain an RL6 Ex title - well done!
There are Shelties to watch in all the classes/levels at shows now - it is proving an excellent sport for our breed and they are doing very well throughout. Good luck everyone!
2017: Lots of successes. Congratulations to Karen Marek for qualifying as a KC Rally Judge. Do look at the 2017 league to see all those who've gained qualifiers and titles, some with 'excellent', in levels 1, 2 and 3. Some of these Shelties are quite young as pups can work levels 1 & 2 while under a year old, giving them useful ring experience. Well done!! Jean's new girl Maddie gained her level 4 title, having only started Rally at the very end of 2016, when she was three. Lots of KC rule changes for 2018 and planned for 2019, so plenty to work on ready for the new season. Good luck for 2018!
2018: Jean's Maddie (Saunderswood Fire Fly of Craygill) gained her RL5.Ex and RL6.Ex at Best Paw Forward In April, only her 9th Rally show day. Chris Graham's Pippin (Shadoway Game of Chance) has also gained RL6.Ex.
2019: Vanessa Hardin's Jelly Tot (Sheltysham Medley of Gold) gained her RL6.Ex title at Banbury in June.
2020/2021: More new rules and sign changes. Only one show in 2020 so not much to report. The 2020 league is joining with the 2021 league as a few shows restarted in 2021. A Rally Warrant was announced to start in 2021 which requires a dog to gain titles at every level, including RL6ex, and to gain 3 further L6 Excellent scores after 1/1/21. Hopefully there will be Sheltie success in this to report soon.
2022: Jean Tuck's Zac (Tooralie's Masquerade at Craygill) gained his RL6.Ex title at Derby in Feb, and completed his Rally Warrant in May
2023: Jean Tuck's Maddie (Saunderswood Fire Fly of Craygill) gained her Rally Warrant in January following an amendment to the RW regulations.
